Advanced Geothermal is a corporation that began as a plumbing and general contracting business in 1984. Since then, we've forged ahead to install geothermal and radiant heating and cooling in residences and businesses. We are based out of Elgin, Illinois though we have installed geothermal systems in Kane County, Cook County, Chicago and McHenry County.
Dirk Dypold is the man who started it all and is the president of Advanced Geothermal. Dirk currently lives in a retrofitted home - a home that he converted into a geothermal and radiant heating and cooling system. For the past 5 years, the home has been heated by passive solar and geothermal with no backup for heating or domestic hot water. His home was featured in the Courier News. Additionally, it was showcased in the 2005 Homes Across America.
